Insights in History “Special Rockne Finds and Stories From the Hunt”

October 1 @ 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm EDT

A vintage wristwatch with a weathered, rusted dial and aged appearance, showcasing historical timekeeping devices from the past.

Collector Andy Nickle has assembled one of the best Knute Rockne collections and will discuss and show some one of a kind and never before seen Rockne personal items, including the watch Rockne was wearing at time of fatal plane crash, the telegram he sent his wife, Bonnie, just before he boarded the plane that would soon crash, pages from the 18-year-old Rockne’s 1907 application and exam for a postal clerk position, and the actual employment contracts he signed with Notre Dame and with Studebaker. Andy and Tina Nickle are sponsors of the podcast “Rockne: The Legend Lives On,” hosted by Alex Painter and presented in conjunction with the exhibit Rockne: Life & Legacy.
